Ellie grew up with her grandfather on the island of Paradise, an unspoiled Eden full of natural wonders. As she grew older, she moved away to pursue a high-flying career. All sounds great, right?  No, there’s something rotten in the company she works at. Ellie stumbles upon a scheme to build a huge and destructive oil rig…right on the shores of her beloved childhood home of Paradise. Horrified, Ellie abandons her job and life and returns to the place of her childhood.  Paradise Lost? Ellie’s return to Paradise isn’t a happy one, though. The island has changed, and not for the better. Her old friends are gone. The place she grew up in is in a terrible state, and most alarmingly, her grandfather is missing.  Now it’s up to Ellie to restore her hometown, unearth Paradise’s dark secrets, and solve her grandfather’s disappearance. And by Ellie, we mean you, the player. Welcome to Secrets Of Paradise, a merge game with a few more stakes than usual.  More Than Just Merging  The gameplay of Secrets Of Paradise is pretty simple to pick up. Quite a lot of your time will be spent with the game’s Merge-2 puzzle mechanics, where you combine items together on the board to complete objectives. It’s easy enough to get into, and something you can do for a few minutes on the bus or waiting for an appointment. Casual game stuff.  Things get a little more unusual when you realize you can go beyond the merge game and get more involved in island life.  You can explore the island, and change it, too. Rebuild the dilapidated buildings to breathe new life into Ellie’s childhood home, and return some business to the town.  It’s not just that, though. Paradise has a host of residents, and lots of them need help. However, not all of them trust you. Bond with them, help them turn their lives around, earn their trust, and reveal some of the island’s secrets.  Secrets Of Paradise is a casual game at its heart, but it keeps the stakes high enough to stop things from getting too humdrum.  If this all sounds good to you, the game is available right now.
